Cloud Leaders ReportIT Channel Insight recently released a report examining the cloud industry and spoke with leading experts including Asigra's very own Eran Farajun.

The study delves into a deep analysis around three areas of focus including: the current cloud market, why it's relevant now, and where it's headed in the future. Asigra's Eran Farajun was asked to share some of his thoughts about the current landscape of the cloud market. With the face of IT departments changing by the impact of the cloud, Eran talks about the blurred lines between personal uses of technology and business uses of technology and how these needs need to be addressed by cloud-based solutions.

In addition, Eran highlights another important change - the shift from owning technology to using technology: "the traditional end-user relationship with technology is being changed by cloud computing. Before, a user would buy software and become the owner of that software - it would be installed and managed on-premise. With cloud computing that relationship has shifted. People are no longer the owners of technology but the users of the technology. The technology is managed by someone else in an offsite location."

Another noteworthy point from the report is that more than 37% of the respondents interviewed cited backup as a major proponent of cloud computing in the next five years, reiterating the importance that data plays for enterprise.
