Asigra Named to CRN’s 100 People You Don’t Know But Should List

Sep 26, 2013

TORONTO – September 26, 2013 - Asigra Inc., a leading cloud backup, recovery and restore software provider since 1986, today announced that Eran Farajun, Executive Vice President of Asigra, has been named by CRN to the 2013 100 People You Don’t Know But Should list. Chosen by the CRN editorial staff, these unsung heroes have demonstrable impact on vendor channel strategies, initiatives and programs. Farajun joined other channel leaders selected by CRN for his role in introducing the company’s game-changing Recovery License Model® (RLM) for backup and recovery.

In building the list, UBM Channel Research developed a methodology in which candidates were assessed based on information provided by vendors and solution providers, which was then reviewed by the CRN editorial team. The Top 100 list takes into account the advancements, innovations, and overall contributions to the channel to promote partner profitability, competitive differentiation, sales enablement and communication. Farajun was recognized for his leadership in introducing the first and only recovery-based backup software pricing option to address the unfair billing structure of capacity- and agent-based pricing models.

Already gaining traction with a growing number of service providers and end-customers, the Asigra Recovery License Model is a performance-based alternative that accounts for the total amount of recovery performed on an annual basis. The Asigra RLM gives IT professionals the ability to better control backup and recovery costs, even as organizational data continues to grow. With this approach, fees are based on a Recovery Performance Score that is calculated over a 12-month period (every 6 months in the first year). A waiver is provided for the single largest recovery event in any licensing term and only successful recoveries are included. This allows customers who recover less to pay less. To ensure that costs are low and fair, the RLM has built-in upper and lower limits so costs are constrained within the pricing band, even if you need all of your data recovered. More importantly, RLM does not charge per recovery event – your data is never held hostage, you get unlimited recoveries, and costs are fixed for each term providing more transparency and predictability.

“The hardworking individuals that work behind the scenes to fuel the IT channel are among the most important assets today,” said Robert Faletra, CEO, UBM Tech Channel. “This invaluable list of 100 individuals represents the most impressive and influential colleagues working among us and we are honored to highlight their success.”

“While relevant in previous years, traditional data backup pricing models are unfair to both partners and end-customers because pricing is not aligned with product value – data recovery,” said Farajun. “We are changing the direction in this area with a recovery-based model that allows service providers to lower their costs as much as 70% without discounting the quality of service. The approach is proving to be popular with the channel and we are pleased to be recognized by CRN for our efforts.”
