Role Summary

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about automated testing and take pride in the quality of their work. The incumbent must be detail oriented, performance driven, and possess a deep knowledge of all aspects of automated testing. Reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance, The QA Automation Developer is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the products have adequate automated testing coverage and the deepest level of validation, while in compliance with the SDLC and QA processes. The incumbent will drive the development of the new generation testing framework with friendly web UI based on Angular JS. The Quality Assurance Engineer will work closely with the QA analysts, developers and tech support engineers within a dynamic agile environment in order to deliver effective and efficient testing automation frameworks and capabilities, while adhering to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand the technical details of all the Asigra products and gain hands-on expertise of the products and systems as required
  • Analyze the testing needs and develop automated testing solution by analyzing the test strategies, test plans and test cases. Create all the related and needed project documentation and provide accurate estimates for each project
  • Create and/or modify written test procedures, test cases, test logs, and other test-related artifacts using approved processes and software tools
  • Develop new automation framework or new capabilities in existing frameworks
  • Develop modular and robust automated test scripts for GUI, API and back-end validations, by utilizing objects, exception handling, and other advanced automation techniques
  • Prioritize the execution of tasks and tests based on business requirements and risks. Manage risks, including mitigation and contingency plans
  • Perform and support all automated testing activities using all the appropriate tools and techniques, such as functional, integration, regression, performance, usability, installation, security and more
  • Design and execute SQL statements for database manipulation and querying
  • Manage defects in compliance to the established defects management process and using tools such as Jira and Bugzilla
  • Work with management to define and/or improve processes, templates and standards related to software testing
  • Communicate results of automated testing efforts to management through the creation of reports, summaries and logs
  • Install and configure software and test environments in preparation for test execution.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of QA experience in automation for products or systems on Windows and Linux environments
  • 3+ years’ experience with automation framework development
  • Proficient level of skills in 3 or more of the following programming languages and tools: Python, Selenium, Java, Powershell
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge of the QA process, and testing disciplines and methodologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of automation testing Experience in mobile and responsive design automation
  • Experience working within an agile environment
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries and analyze results to validate application functionality
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Excellent technical depth and troubleshooting skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Experience with MS SQL and PostgreSQL databases
  • Experience of XML, UNIX/Linux, HTML, Perl, Python, TCP/IP and client/server systems
  • Knowledge of backup/restore products
  • Experience with virtualization environments, such as VMWare and Hyper-V
  • Full life cycle software development process knowledge
  • Knowledge of Exchange, Google, Amazon Web Services, Azure and other cloud services is a plus
  • Nice to have: Jira and Zephyr APIs, Shell, Javascript, Angular JS, C++/C#, XML, HTML VB
