Press Release (U.S.)

Asigra to Present on Agentless Multi-Site Backup and Recovery at Storage Networking World 2005
Company’s presentation to explore evolution of distributed data protection

Toronto – April 5, 2005 – Asigra, the technology specialist in agentless distributed backup and recovery software for network computing, will present a session entitled “Darwin Meets Data Storage: Backup Diverges into Televaulting” at Storage Networking World, Spring 2005 at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, Arizona April 15 at 8:15 a.m.

Stacy Hayes, manager of backup services for Asigra, will be the featured speaker at the session and discuss the divergence of the storage market from the data center to distributed backup. The speech will also touch upon the new backup paradigm of televaulting – a concept in which a utility service provisioning model is used to deliver distributed backup and restore operations with centralized management and a unique pricing model that enables IT departments to operate in large, complex geographically dispersed network environments to effectively and affordably manage and protect data offsite from one centralized location.

Asigra eliminates many backup pain points through technology that is designed for enterprise-wide centralization, built from the ground up to perform on a global level. It is tested and certified compatible by leading infrastructure providers not to take the place of data center backup software, but complement it for multi-site backup and recovery. Business benefits that differentiate Asigra’s offering from other backup solutions include true regulatory compliance, reduction in worldwide IT management expenditures, and compounded reduction of both hardware/software capital and enterprise-wide license costs. Asigra also offers a “pay-as-you-grow” compressed-capacity-based licensing model, allowing users to pay only for storage under management. The initial implementation capacity is based on the amount of compressed data to protect. After that, customers are charged per compressed terabyte of additional storage.

SNW is the leading global event series focused on the continued, rapid growth and implementation of storage networking technologies. With a concentration on end-user education, SNW's content-rich agenda and quality presentations have earned the conference a reputation as the industry's leading forum. Throughout the four-day conference in April, companies will share their successes and challenges and the latest technologies, standards, business benefits and products will be presented to the end-user audience. In addition, they will have access to the most comprehensive storage training available within the storage networking industry. Additional program details are available at www.snwusa.com.

Asigra Televaulting for Enterprises is currently available with prices starting at $11,250 USD.
