ONStor and Asigra Announce Compliance Package for Remote Backup & Recovery

LOS GATOS, Calif. – December 6, 2005 – ONStor Inc., the leader in Enterprise NAS Gateway solutions, and Asigra™, the technology specialist in agentless distributed backup and recovery software for network computing, today announced a partnership to provide a turnkey compliance package for enterprise backup and recovery that simplifies and consolidates remote site data protection.

The combination of ONStor’s Bobcat Series Enterprise NAS gateways and Asigra’s Televaulting™ for Enterprises agentless software enables organizations to easily address their compliance and data protection issues across multiple sites by consolidating and then sending the compressed backup data to a centralized location. There is no limit on the number of servers, desktops and laptops that can be protected since the agentless system is based on a compressed capacity pricing model versus a unit license-based model, ensuring all systems on the network are protected in the event of data loss. AES 256-bit encryption of backup data ‘in-flight’ and ‘at-rest’ prevents unauthorized access to corporate information as required by compliance regulations.

Unlike conventional data center backup software, Asigra’s Televaulting software is optimized for multi-site backup and recovery. By addressing the backup pain points common to remote offices and leveraging the scalable performance and management simplicity of ONStor’s high-throughput NAS Gateways, which provide a centralized data vault, the ONStor-Asigra solution delivers true regulatory compliance. The combination also reduces hardware and software costs for enterprises that are dependent on NAS technology for remote site storage.
