Asigra Televaulting to be a ‘Hot’ Technology in 2006,
Experts at Storage Magazine Say
TORONTO – January 11, 2006 – Asigra™ Televaulting, the leading agentless distributed backup and recovery software for network computing, will be among the ‘Hot Technologies of 2006,’ TechTarget’s Storage magazine said in the December 2005 issue.
“In this assessment, ‘hot’ means those products IT organizations are most likely to need and will seriously consider in the coming year,” wrote Alan Radding, frequent contributor to Storage. The editors selected just five technologies that they predict will be most in demand in 2006 and singled out Asigra as a key provider of remote office support.
Greg Schulz, senior analyst at StorageIO and author of the book Resilient Storage Networks, agreed that remote vaulting and distributed backup, exemplified by Asigra’s Televaulting, will grow in prominence in the coming year.
“Managing data in remote sites, where there may be little or no IT staff present, and delivering acceptable levels of disaster recoverability while achieving regulatory compliance is clearly increasing in complexity. Approaches like Asigra Televaulting make these goals workable, and its agentless architecture and centralized administration make economic sense for a very large, multi-site network.”
“The year 2005 was a banner year for Asigra as we increased revenue 200 percent over the previous year, signed multiple customer and OEM agreements, won several product awards and passed the three-petabyte milestone of data managed by Televaulting,” said Eran Farajun, Asigra Executive Vice President. “If the experts say this trend is continuing, we welcome even more successes in 2006.”
Asigra’s Televaulting, an agentless WAN platform solution that delivers backup/restore service as a utility, brings an easy-to-deploy multi-site data protection solution for enterprise use. Providing a highly scalable and secure method for business continuity needs, Televaulting delivers a simplified management platform that provides backup and retrieval of corporate data for businesses, as well as the ability for service providers to expand beyond regional boundaries to open up new markets.
Just over one year ago, Asigra Televaulting received a bronze award from the editors of Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com in their annual Products of the Year competition.
