Asigra’s Televaulting Software is chosen by Interxion to deliver Online Backup Services to its Customers across Europe
London - 29th March, 2005 - Asigra, the technology specialists in multi-site backup and recovery software for network computing, today announced that Interxion, the largest carrier-neutral data centre and managed services provider in Europe, has selected Asigra’s Televaulting as the core software platform to deliver Interxion Secure Data Service (SDS) – a managed online backup and restore service. Interxion, headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, supports its 700 customers with its colocation and managed IT services from 20 data centres across eleven countries in Europe. Interxion’s unique footprint and quality customer base are complemented by excellent connectivity and peering possibilities through a wide choice of carriers and major European Internet Exchanges hosted by Interxion. Combined with Interxion’s focus on managed IT services, such as monitoring, systems management, and backup & restore, these form a unique business proposition offered by Interxion. At each customer site one SDS-client is installed to support single- or multi-server customer environments. When a backup has to be done, the software collects data, performs compression and encryption before sending it over an IP-WAN connection to a centralised SDS Vault located in one of the Interxion data centres. In order to restore data it is collected from the SDS Vault and sent back to the client. This online backup and restore process is managed by the customer via a single Graphical User Interface without additional human intervention or delays. It is also easy to implement as it requires minimum training and installation efforts.” Asigra Televaulting for Enterprises supports a broad range of OS platforms, including Windows, Linux, Unix, Novell and AS/400, and protects Oracle, SQL Server and Exchange Server data. Back-end SDS-System software runs on Solaris, Linux, and Windows.
