CeBIT 2005: Multi-Site Backup and Recovery Software from Asigra
Asigra to Exhibit Latest Version of its Backup and Recovery Software Designed for Multi-Site Environments

London -31st January 2005 -Asigra, the technology specialist in multi-site backup and recovery software for network computing, today announced it will exhibit its products and services at the partner booth of Sun Microsystems in Hall 1, stand 8a2.

Eran Farajun, Executive Vice President of Asigra, who will be available for press meetings at CeBIT comments; “Organisations worldwide are faced with increasing legislation with regards to the correct storage of data, as well as an increasing threat to the security of their data, in part due to the exponential global growth in cyber-terrorism. It is therefore essential that data backup up and recovery solutions providers like ourselves adapt our technology to account for these issues that affect all organisations. We also need to develop solutions that will cater for the different requirements of every office location while centralising the data storage, whether it is taking data from a home user based in Iceland or from a desktop at the headquarters in London.”

Eran Farajun will be at the stand at CeBIT to introduce interested parties to the company, inform about the latest edition of its software, and speak about the cost-saving license model and new customers and partners acquired globally. Following is information about the products Asigra will be exhibiting at CeBIT:

Televaulting for Enterprises

Asigra’s Televaulting™ for Enterprises product is a distributed backup solution that delivers centralised backup administration of remote site data islands. Televaulting for Enterprises also provides a new and unique pricing model that enables IT organisations to dramatically reduce the cost and management of backup across the WAN.

Asigra Televaulting for Enterprises was developed with a distributed backup software architecture and capacity-based pricing model, a first in the industry. This eliminates the data protection, performance, scalability and high license costs inherent in conventional tape-based backup software and agent-based licenses from Veritas, Legato/EMC and others.

Asigra BLM and Televaulting ILM-aware software package

Asigra BLM and Televaulting ILM-aware is the first backup and recovery software package to deliver ILM capabilities across multiple corporate sites. Asigra significantly reduces the cost and complexity of data storage by automatically moving data to the most appropriate storage media. Migration is based on pre-determined policies of accessibility, security and long-term storage.

It is estimated that the cost of managing data throughout its lifecycle continues to grow 20 to 30 percent each year, as increasing amounts of data and the need for longer, regulatory retention times grow. Asigra BLM helps to minimise hardware, administration and real estate costs traditionally associated with information management, while increasing an organisation’s return on its data storage investment.
