Q&A

Q: I’m worried about online backup compromising the security of my data. How does Asigra Televaulting protect my data over the LAN?

A: Unlike many traditional backup methods that don’t encrypt backup data or require a separate product and process prior to backup, encryption is an integrated feature in Asigra Televaulting.

Advanced security and authentication algorithms, including AES encryption (up to 256), ensure the safety and confidentiality of backed up data in-flight and at-rest. The level of encryption is set by the customer during the installation of the DS-Client. The backup data is only unencrypted by the DS-Client at your site when it has retrieved the encrypted data from your Data Center or Service Provider for a restore.

Asigra's agentless architecture adds an additional layer of security.

"An agentless backup software actually reduces vulnerabilities, risks, and threats associated with remote backup through the use of SSH, encrypted password storage, and encrypted client/server traffic."
